Hello December.... And so the Christmas baking begins!
Create a delicious pastry centerpieces for your Christmas dinner this year with this delicious Nutella Christmas tree. It is easier to make than you think and it uses just 3 simple ingredients. Nutella spread is sandwiched between two layers of puff pastry and then scored in all the right places then twisted to form tree branches. Trust me everyone will adore this festive sweet treat.
Ingredients
1 package frozen Puff Pastry, thawed
4 tbsp Nutella
1 Egg, beaten
Method
Preheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out one puff pastry sheet and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Cut out the pastry sheet in the shape of a Christmas tree. Remove the excess pastry sheet and keep it aside.
Spread Nutella over the pastry sheet with a spoon.
Place the other puff pastry sheet over the Nutella spread. Cut top puff pastry sheet into the shape of the Christmas tree as the bottom sheet. Remove the excess pastry sheet.
Cut horizontally through both pastry sheets to create branches for your tree.
Twist each branch of the tree. Cut few stars out of the excess pastry sheet and place on top of the tree as desired.
Brush the entire tree with beaten egg.
Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes and serve immediately.
