Here is an 'easy to make' flan recipe. It is made using condensed milk, heavy cream and eggs.
Yield: 8 Servings
Ingredients
For Flan
14oz condensed milk
12oz heavy cream
3 large eggs
2tsp vanilla extract
For Caramel
2/3 cup Sugar
2 tbsp water
Method:
In a medium-size saucepan add sugar and water and heat it on a low heat.
It will slowly start to melt and then turn into a deep dark caramel color. This will take about 6-8 minutes.
Remove the caramel from the heat and immediately pour into a 10-inch round pan. Swirl the caramel to cover the bottom of the pan evenly.
Set the caramel-coated pan aside to cool and harden.
In a large mixing bowl, add the eggs, condensed milk, heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract. Whisk together until everything is fully combined.
Strain mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a larger bowl.
Pour the strained custard into the pan over the caramel.
Place the flan pan in a large baking dish and pour warm water in the dish until it reaches about halfway up the pan.
Carefully place the baking dish in the oven and bake at 350F for 50 minutes.
Let the flan cool at room temperature.
Once it's cooled, cover with the lid or foil and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
To unmold the flan, slide a sharp knife around the edges of the pan and carefully invert on serving plate.
Slice, serve and enjoy.
